Through the Storm

The Lord's powerful love can steer through the darkness.

One night I had a dream with such dense, dark clouds that I couldn’t even see past them.

In the boat, Jesus stood up and moved to the helm (the steering). I thought He would speak to the storm like He did in the Bible story and bring calm to everything.

Instead, He stood there at the helm.
Immovable.

He planted Himself, steering and slicing through the wind, waves, and water.
Forward, through the storm.

…He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm.
The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
Nahum 1:3b NLT

In whatever storm you find yourself, invite Jesus to come. Pour out your heart and tell Him. Shout, cry, question, and process your thoughts with Him.

His sovereignty can calm the storm. But His powerful love can also steer through the wind and waves. The darkness may still seem like a suffocating weight. The noise of the chaos may continue to rage within.

The Lord loves you. When you draw near to the Living God, His Presence gives an inner strength unavailable without Him. He brings guidance, and He carries you through. He promises to always be with you, even in the darkest storm.
